 Maricar Drilon-Capps |
Maricar was born in the Philippines, where she began her professional career with Ballet Philippines, performing principal roles in more than 11 ballets including “Cinderella”,
“The Nutcracker”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “Sleeping Beauty”, and Margo Sappington’s “The Kiss". She toured with the company to Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan, Russia and Europe.
After coming to the United States, she has danced with Utah’s Ballet West, Eugene Ballet, Los Angeles Classical Ballet, Nevada Dance Theatre and Oregon Ballet Theatre. She has worked with noted choreographers such as Vakhtang Chabukiani, Norman Walker, Alice Reyes, James Canfield ,
Bebe Miller, Dennis Spaight, Toni Pimble, among others.
Certified in Pilates and Gyrotonic®, she is Co-Director of Washington State Ballet and Director of the Academy of Washington State Ballet.
